ARTICLE આટિક્લ્

અંગ્રેજી ભાષા માં ૨૬ મૂળાક્ષર છે. જેમાં a,e,I,o,u સ્વર(vowel) છે. અને બાકી ના વ્યંજન(consonant) છે.અને અંગ્રેજી ભાષા માં ત્રણ article a, an અને the છે.a અને an article એકવચન માટે વપરાય છે જયારે the article એકવચન તેમજ બહુવચન બન્ને માટે વપરાય છે.

>a/an નો અર્થ ‘એક’ એવો થાય છે માટે તેઓ હંમેસા એકવચન સામાન્ય નામ પહેલા લાગશે.

>ગણી ન સકાય તેવા ભાવવાચક અથવા દ્ર્ર્વ્યવાચક નામ પહેલા article લાગશે નહિ.

જેમ કે water, milk, gold, love, anger etc.

>સંજ્ઞાવાચક નામ(proper noun) પહેલા article નહિ વપરાય.

જેવા કે, Mehul, Mayur, Patan, Gujarat, India etc.

Indefinite Article ‘A’

>જયારે કોઈ શબ્દની સરૂઆત વ્યંજનથી થતી હોય ત્યારે તેની આગળ ‘a’ article લાગશે.

જેમ કે a book, a student, a car, a house, a tiger etc.

>જયારે કોઈ શબ્દની સરૂઆત સ્વર થી થતી હોય પરુંતુ તેનો ઉચ્ચાર વ્યંજન થી થતો હોય તો તેની આગળ પણ ‘a’ article લાગશે.

જેમ કે a one dollar note, a European, a uniform, a union, a university, a useful thing, a unit etc.

> ‘a’ article ‘little’ અને ‘few’ સાથે પણ વપરાય છે જે હકાર મતલબ સૂચવે છે.

જેમ કે There is a little water in the bottle you can drink it.

There are a few boys who can do your work.

>’દરેક’ના સંદર્ભ માં પણ ‘a’ article વપરાય છે.

જેમ કે 50 rupees a kilo, ten times a week, 15 rupees a dozen.

 >‘a’ article ઉદગાર વાક્ય માં પણ વપરાય છે.

Indefinite Article ‘An’

> જયારે કોઈ શબ્દની સરૂઆત સ્વર થી થતી હોય ત્યારે તેની આગળ ‘an’ article લાગશે.

જેમ કે an apple, an orange, an umbrella, an elephant  etc.

>જયારે કોઈ શબ્દની સરૂઆત વ્યંજન થી થતી હોય પરુંતુ તેનો ઉચ્ચાર સ્વર થી થતો હોય તો તેની આગળ પણ ‘an’ article લાગશે.

જેમ કે an x-raw machine, an hour, an honest person, an honorable man, an M.P., an SMS, an M.L.A., an L.L.B. etc.

Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ ક્યારે ન વપરાય

> Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ બહુવચન નામ સાથે ન વપરાય.

જેમ કે books, girls, pants, people etc.

> Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ ગણી ન સકાય તેવા નામ સાથે ન વપરાય.

જેમ કે news, advice, furniture, knowledge, work etc.

> Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ દ્દ્રવ્યવાચક નામ ની સથે ન વપરાય.

જેમ કે milk, water, cloth, tea, wheat, rice, wood, sugar etc.

> Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ ભાવવાચક નામ સાથે ન વપરાય.

જેમ કે  love, hope, wisdom, fear, courage, beauty etc.

>ભોજન ના નામ આગળ Indefinite Article ‘A’ અને ‘An’ ન વપરાય.

જેમ કે dinner, lunch, breakfast, supper etc.

Definite article The

>ચોક્કસ વસ્તુ કે વ્યક્તિ માટે

Ex. The pen which you gave me was very nice.

The girl who came to your home was Tina.

>અજોડ વસ્તુ માટે

જેમ કે The moon, The sun, the sky, the earth, the sea etc.

>વસ્તુ કે વ્યક્તિ નો જયારે બીજી વાર ઉલ્લેખ કરવા માં આવે ત્યારે

જેમ કે I met a boy. The boy was very claver.

Gopi gave me a gift. The gift was costly.

>જયારે નામ નો પૂરી જાતી માટે ઉપયોગ થયો હોય ત્યારે

જેમ કે The dog is a faithful animal.

The pen is useful device.

The rose is beautiful flower.

>નદીઓ, પર્વતમાળાઓ, મહાસાગર કે ખાડીઓ ના નામ સાથે

જેમ કે The Ganga, The Himalayas, The Arabian sea etc.

>ધર્મગ્રંથો, ઐતિહાસિક ઈમારતો, કિલ્લાઓ, સ્મૃતિ ચિહ્નો સાથે

જેમ કે The Gita, The Bible, The Taj Mahel, The Rani ki Vav, The Red Fort, The Ashok Chakra etc.

>દિશાઓ ના નામ સાથે

જેમ કે the East, the west, the south, the North etc.

>Newspapers અને Magazines ના નામ સાથે

જેમ કે the Times of India, the Divy Bhaskar, the Safari etc.

>પૂરી કોમ, જાતી કે નાગરીકતા સાથે

જેમ કે the Indians, the Hindus, the British, the Japanese etc.

>ઐતિહાસિક દિવસ કે ઘટના સાથે

જેમ કે the Independence Day, the Industrial Revolution, the Republic Day etc.

>ટ્રેન, જહાજ, સબમરીન, મિસાઈલ કે વિમાન ના નામ સાથે

જેમ કે the Vikrant, the Jambu Tavi, the Titanic, the Arihant, the Agni-2 etc.

>નંબર સાથે

જેમ કે the first, the last, the next, the second etc.     

>જયારે કોઈ સામાન્ય નામ નો વિશેસણ તરીખે ઉપયોગ થયો હોય ત્યારે તેની સાથે

જેમ કે You are the Gandhiji of our class.

Patan is the Parris of Gujarat.

>Superlative Degree ના વિસેસણ સાથે

જેમ કે the best, the longest, the biggest, the worst etc.

>Double comparative degree સાથે

જેમ કે The more you work, the batter it is.

The less work, the less you earn.

>વિસેસણ જ્યરે નામ(Noun) તરીખે વપરાય ત્યારે તેની સાથે

જેમ કે થે the strong, the good, the dangerous, the perfect, the needy etc.

    

ક્યારે The Article નહિ વપરાય

>કોઈ વસ્તુ કે પદાર્થ ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે water,gold,vegetable etc.

_પરંતુ ચોક્કસ વસ્તુ અથવા પદાર્થ ના સંદર્ભ માં article The વપરાશે.

જેમ કે the water of the Ganga.

>સંજ્ઞાવાચક નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે Suresh, Nisha, India, Gujarat etc.

>ભાષા ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે Gujarati, Hindi, English etc.

>ઈમારતો ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે school, house, college, university, temple etc.

-પણ ચોક્કસ ઈમારત ના સંદર્ભ માં The Article વપરાશે.

જેમ કે The school was very nice which I visited last time.

>ભોજન ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે lunch, dinner, breakfast, supper etc.

>રમત ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે cricket, football, chess, tennis etc.

>રોગ ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય.

જેમ કે fever, malaria, cancer, AIDS etc.

>કલર ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય

જેમ કે green, black, red etc.

>વાર, મહીના અને ઋતુ ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય.

જેમ કે Sunday, July, Summer, Winter etc.

>તહેવારો ના નામ સાથે The Article નહિ વપરાય.

જેમ કે Holi, Diwali etc.
